Student’s at St. Monica’s Kindergarten and Daycare in Uganda.
At St. Monica’s Kindergarten and Daycare in Gulu, Uganda children from the community receive an early childhood education, healthy meals, medicine, and a safe place to play.
Through the Comboni Missionaries North American Province Small Mission Projects Program, St. Monica’s received financial support to purchase food, medicine, and school supplies. They were also able to pay the teachers’ salaries.
“Your donation is very important for us. It helps the continuity of our commitment to serving vulnerable children in the community,” Sr. Betty wrote in her report.
“With this contribution we are able to save children and provide 150 pupils with the necessary basic needs, which fosters their early child development and learning, and provides them with a place to learn and feel safe,” she continued.
St. Monica’s Kindergarten is part of a larger campus that also houses the St. Monica’s Vocational School for Girls, which was started by Sr. Rosemary Nyirumbe. This incredible program has saved the lives of thousands of young women, traumatized by past war and conflict in Northern Uganda.
We are proud to support St. Monica’s and many other projects like it.
Every year, the Small Missions Projects Program provides grants of up to $10,000 to support feeding programs, medical facilities, parishes, schools and more throughout the world.
