Congratulations to the Banga family on the addition of two beautiful children to their family! Mark and Maggie Banga are Comboni Lay Missionaries living in Ethiopia. Two years ago they adopted an adorable little girl named Emebet. In June they finalized the adoptions of Isayas and Teibe.
Isayas is a very active and happy 14-month old boy. Teibe is an expressive, snuggly 8-month old.
“We began the adoption process one year ago, and with so many changes here within the country related to orphan care and adoption, we feel it is a miracle that we were given the permission by the government to bring these little ones into our family. The journey was arduous at moments, but what remains inside of us is a deep sense of gratitude and an even stronger permanent link to the Ethiopia that we have grown to love,” Mark wrote.
On June 25, they officially became the parents of Isayas and Teibe. However, Mark and Maggie have had the privilege of knowing the kids and watching them grow since Christmas because the orphanage is just 200 meters from their house in Awassa.
“We are already fondly attached! Other than having them in our home, we could not have asked for a better situation in the past months while we completed the adoption process. Emebet (now 2 years 8 months) has also come to know them and she has been preparing her heart to welcome them, often asking us: ‘my brother and sister coming soon to my home?’ Last night she added their names to our bedtime prayers multiple times and finished by saying ‘I like Teibe. I like Isayas,’” Mark wrote.
Congratulations Mark and Maggie. God has certainly blessed your family!
