“It is not the will of God that some will have everything while others have nothing.” This is an old mural quoting one of Archbishop Oscar Romero’s favorite statements. On the occasion of the 34th anniversary of his assassination the Church remembered the thousands of martyrs who died for their faith or to practice justice and charity.
FIDES NEWS agency reports that in 2013, 22 priests, religious and lay people joined the number. The Comboni Missionaries also took time to remember their own martyrs. A booklet was also published to remember two youthful catechists who, at the beginning of the Comboni Missionaries work in northern Uganda, were killed for their faith in the village of Paymol in 1918. They are Blessed David Okelo and Jildo Irwa. More about them, as soon as we get the booklet.
